New York ...New York

For my 21st Birthday present I was taken to the wonderful City the NEVER EVER SLEEPS!!

'Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today', I definitely want to be a part of it 'NEW YORK, NEW YORK'!! I had never left Europe before so even sitting on a plane with a TV on the back of your seat was an excitement for me.

As I flew from my home town Newcastle it took a lot of effort to get to New York, I had to fly from Newcastle to Paris, and then from Paris to New York. Which was a looooong ass journey 14 hours in total. My Sister Alice and I decided it was a good idea to watch the conjuring on the plane (NO, noo it wasn't... AT ALL!). I am not good with Scary films never have been never will be.. being a nervous wreck as I am with scary films I lost the plot. In fact that is an understatement I made many of the passengers think they were about to die, I let out a huge scream which echoed down the whole entire plane. One Air Hostess dropped her cup midway pouring some orange juice, about 5 childrens heads appeared from the sides and above of chairs peering down the aisle to see who the culprit was. One elderly mans reading glasses had fell off from jumping out of his chair, grasping his chest. To top it all off my Sister couldn't contain her laughter and spat Apple Juice over some complete stranger! My Mam turned around 'Luckily we've only got 5 hours left'. Well at least I provided some entertainment I mean I should have got paid for that, they pay loads for their entertainment staff on Cruises.

Immediately you could hear all the hustle and bustle arriving into the city. Everything was big in the Big Apple, the food, the fashion, the personalities and especially the buildings. I was in ore of this City I had never seen or experienced anything like this before, I wanted to see and experience everything all at once.

Grand Central

Central Park- Fountain from Friends

View from Rockefeller Centre

View from Empire State Building

To experience the whole City we had to see the whole City, and the that is Exactly what we did. Firstly we went up the Rockefeller at night and saw New York lit up under the night sky. It looked amazing it felt like the lights went on forever. We got professional pictures taken with our tickets which the staff printed out for you at the end of the whole experience.

The next day we went up the Empire State Building which is taller than the Rockefeller. It was amazing to see the contrast between night and day. Both were views were equally as beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. I would recommend seeing the City from above in the night and the day.

The buildings themselves we magnificent, the inside of the Empire State Buidling was stunning, however the atmosphere in to Rockefeller was more fun the lift was created to be like Willy Wonkas Glass Lift flying up the floors.

Next stop was Brooklyn Bridge, it doesn't look busy on the picture above but it was. So many people had come from all over the world to step on this Bridge and I was happy to be one of them. So I decided to be cheeky and leave the Cromptons mark on there forever. It made me think of all the amazing films that were filmed here and it also made me really want to be an Avenger.  For October the weather was amazing it wasn't too hot so we weren't dying whilst walking around this massive City and it wasn't raining so the views were fantastic and on the plus side it made my pictures look pretty damn amazing.

Niagara Falls is what I had chose to do and I do not regret. I will never forget this day and it will definitely be in my top ten days for the rest of my life. The buildings in New York are phenomenal, but i'm afraid Mother Nature has beaten you my friend. We did have a traumatic start to the day our flight nearly got cancelled but all that worry was god damn worth it. There was no Queuing for the boat as it was October so we got straight on. The Weather was perfect. I was so excited I started chanting 'NIAGRA RHYMES WITH VIAGRA' making this huge Canadian woman cry with laughter, and emabarrased my mother ....again. Woops!

The Hard Rock Cafe New York was right up my Dads Street. It was filled with guitars from classic Rock Bands. Including the Beatles guitars and outfits, however my favourites was the kings himself, Elvis Presleys Guitar and Suit, what an honour it was to see that. We did buy food vouchers on-line before we came to New York which I don't recommend, you could get a better meal from McDonald's. Everyone else's food  off the menu looked gorgeous, take my advice don't get a voucher you WILL be disappointed. Treat yourself and can something off the menu after all you are on Holiday. The milkshake I got however was delicious it had bacon bits on it and I felt like I was in heaven.

Finally The last event was Les Miserables and I thought this Muscial was spectacular I had been wanting to see this for a while now and I couldn't have seen it in a better place. The Cast were brilliant the songs were fantastic it was a real treat. I did embarrass my Mother for the third and final time on this trip, well you know what they say everything comes in threes. It was the second song of Act one and Jean Valjean was singing about God and what had become of Jean Valjean. A very serious touching and moving piece right?! So why did it have to be that moment in time, I had to get the urge to laugh? I have no idea. The whole theatre was silent listening contently to the heart rending words being sung. Theatre enthusiasts muttering quietly about how the light insinuates the mood of the song. When all this time I had been trying to suppress this laugh rising from my stomach, because I wasn't aloud to loud laugh it just made everything ten times more funny. I bit my lips and held my breath, thinking to my self the songs nearly over let it out when everyones clapping, then no one will hear you. Then I made the biggest mistake ever. I looked down at my Sister who then looked back, I could tell she wanted to laugh too. The smirk on her face was like a needle to balloon, I burst a massive 'BFFFFFFFFT'. Then there was silence...I looked around quickly and thought good no one has noticed, when slowly my mothers head moves out into the aisle she stares a long stare and shakes her head. I made sure I didn't laugh for the rest of the performance.

To conclude, if you're thinking about seeing New York ..DO IT!!! It is a fantastic place to see with lots to do and visit I didn't get to see it all and I would definitely up for doing it again. It is a once in a life time opportunity, if you want to be dazzled and amazed then do it.
